His Majesty Congratulates Vietnam on Her Independence Day His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam has expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that have long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His Majesty hopes that his would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people. This was conveyed in His Majesty’s congratulatory messages to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Tran Duc Luong and the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Phan Van Khai, on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day. In the congratulatory message to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Majesty expressed hope that His Excellency Mr. Tran Duc Luong would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the Socialist Republic to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity. Meanwhile, in a similar message to the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Phan Van Khai, His Majesty congratulated His Excellency, the government and people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His Majesty also wishes His Excellency Mr. Phan Van Khai continued good health and happiness and for the prosperity of the people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also sent a congratulatory message to his Vietnamese counterpart, His Excellency Nguyen Dy Nien, on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Monday. In the message, His Royal Highness expressed his warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency and the government and the people of Vietnam. His Royal Highness values the warm and friendly relations between the two countries particularly His Excellency’s personal efforts in strengthening relations both bilaterally and as regional partners in ASEAN. His Royal Highness also looks forward to the pleasure of continuing working together in the coming year. |
| His Majesty Welcomes Representatives of PECC The 15th Pacific Economic Cooperation Council’s general meeting began Monday with several forums. The main focus was on community building in the Asia Pacific Region, specifically about the key imperatives for globalization and development. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam has placed high confidence in the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, the PECC, in mapping the development and progress of the Asia-Pacific Region. His Majesty expressed this in his titah to welcome the representatives at the 15th Meeting of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council. In his titah at the opening of the meeting, His Majesty said his government has placed great importance in the contribution of PECC to the cooperation and development of the region. His Majesty views the PECC more than just a meeting of intellectuals. His Majesty has also highlighted the need to be vigilant in facing up to any eventuality. This, His Majesty said, could help establish confidence and stability in the Asia-Pacific Region. His Majesty regards the PECC as the architects to design the region with renewed dynamism that ensures lasting stability. |
